Grizzlies Vice President of Marketing Will Discuss Communications with PRSSA Students
Memphis, Tenn.- PRSSA has partnered with the American Marketing Association (AMA) student chapter to host a webinar during which the guest speaker Lauren Carnell will discuss communications with students. The webinar will take place Oct. 27 at 4 p.m. on Zoom.
The event is free for PRSSA members, AMA members, and faculty; $10 for all other attendees.
According to Oakley Weddle, PRSSA President, the webinar is valuable for students interested in sports media, sports marketing, sports management, and communications overall.
"We are thrilled to have a guest speaker from the Grizzlies for our webinar. We have tons of students doing Sports Media in our department, and we're excited to offer this benefit to our students,” said Weddle.
Carnell has been Vice President of Marketing at the Memphis Grizzlies for almost a year. Prior to joining Memphis Grizzlies, she worked as a Vice President for Varsity Spirit where she managed the email service provider, set up communication automations, and created and managed KPI and performance metrics. Carnell has earned a bachelor’s degree in Communications and Human Development and has volunteered at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospitals as well as Defy Ventures.
PRSSA and AMA student chapters are both excited for the collaboration for this event, as it will provide a great benefit to the students.
Carley Brown, AMA Chapter Co-president said, “It has sparked a lot of interest in our members, and we can’t wait to learn valuable information from Lauren Carnell".
